So, how about a review of these new and exotic brews you got?

Travis, Happy to oblige. I'll review the Flying Noodle Beer Of The Month selections first. Blowing Rock's High Country Lager, and Summer Ale are pretty representative of their styles.
Though they tend to be a bit tad on the bland side though. Then again, their bottled beers are done by Lion's Head in Wilkes Barre. I've never had their stuff on tap, so the bottled ones might not be as good as the ones available at their brewpub, and the Lion's Head taint (Christian Morelein, Pennsylvania Brewing, etc.)may be coloring my opinion.
As for the Carabassett Pale Ale, and Casco Bay Riptide Red Ale, they're tastier than the Blowing Rock offerings, but not by a lot. The Red Ale is OK, and the Pale Ale, is just a Pale Ale, barely. Then again, I'm a fan Flying Dog's Raging Bitch IPA, and Great Lakes Commodore Perry IPA's, and like my Ales with more snap.
I'll review the St. George's 6er Variety pack later. My Sister In Law brought one up last year, and while their Beers weren't bad, nothing really stood out IMHO.

For those with idle curiosity, or a death wish, the Krogers in Martins Ferry,OH and Bellaire,OH, both across from Wheeling have Magic Hat's Whacko for sale. I passed.

I was in Columbus,OH, to attend the Squeeze/Cheap Trick concert on Friday, and after the show, my Garmin showed that there was a Giant Eagle just down the street from the venue, so I decided to check out their Beer selection.
I picked up 6er's of Shiner's Smokehaus Mesquite Smoked Helles Style Beer, O'Fallon's Hemp Hop Rye and Wheach/ Peach Wheat Beer, Flying Dog's Raging Bitch and Troegs's Nugget Nectar. I also picked up singles of Samuel Smith's Organic Raspberry & Strawberry Ales, Winter Warmer, and their Organic Cider. I also bought singles of BrewKettles 4 C''s American Pale Ale, Wells's Banana Bread Beer, and New Holland's Dragon's Milk. I would have bought some others, but unfortunately, it was Friday night, and their Beer selection had been pretty much picked over.

Beer related note: If you think about it, let me know how you liked these two beers. I haven't tried them for various reasons, but have heard good things and am on the fence. Non-beer related note: Love Cheap Trick. Saw them several years ago (15?)... one of my favorite non-metal rock bands.

I've tried the Shiner Smokehouse Helles. Not horrible, but I wouldn't buy another 6er of it-it does have mesquite smoked taste as advertised.
The O'Fallon Wheach/Peach Beer isn't bad-not a fan of Wheat or Fruit Beer, but I like the taste of it, and the balance. The O'Fallon Hemp Hop Ale is underwhelming, it tastes similar to a Wattle flavored Beer from Australia that I picked up in Newport,OH awhile back.
I'll pop either the Wells Banana Bread or New Holland Dragon's Milk tonight. And the Cheap Trick/Squeeze show was great, though my Nephews didn't care much for Squeeze though.

Stopped by Smoker Friendly on Wheeling Island today, and picked up a 6er of Breckenridge Brewing's Summer Bright Ale.

Not Wheeling sightings, but I was at a conference in Berea,OH, and did some Beer Searching while I was there. First up, from Heinen's, 21st Amendment Brewery's Brew Free Or Die IPA, and their Back In Black In Black IPA. I also found Pyramid Brewings Fling Pale Ale at a nearby Giant Eagle. I'll be posting more of the Beers I found as I try them. Also, I had Ohio Old 21 IPA at the Brewkettle in Strongsville,OH, while I was there. Didn't want to fool with a growler on the 3 hour trip home, but both Giant Eagle and Heinen's has them in 22oz bottles.

Tony, I didn't see it there. You might want to call, either the Wheeling Island, or Highlands location of Smoker Friendly. Sometimes, the Highlands location has stuff that the Island store doesn't, and vice versa.
Also, Kroger in Woodsdale now has the Sierra Nevada Tumbler. It's the 1st new Beer there in ages. And I'm still waiting for Flying Dog Beers to stagger into the Northern Panhandle. I work at West Liberty, and one of our student workers has a summer job at SF on the Island, and she said that they'd ordered, or were going to order Flying Dog Beers, and I'm still waiting.

Was in Wheeling this afternoon, and made a stop at Smoker Friendly. They still have a boatload of the Harpoon 100 Barrel Series Pirs Landbier, but no Harpoon Pils. Also, Krogers in Martins Ferry has the Samuel Adams Fall Sampler. Exclusive to the 12 pack is their Pumpkin Ale.

Stopped at Smoker Friendly on Wheeling Island and the Highlands today. SF on the Island now has Harpoon Leviathan's Triticus and Great Lakes Oktoberfest. The Highlands location only has the Triticus.

Stopped in at the Krogers in Steubenville, and Weirton, on the way to a show @ Star Lake last night-didn't have time to stop @ Valley Wine. Picked up the Sam Adams Fall Sampler and Harvest Moon Ale. Other than that, they didn't have much of note.

Did a quick Wheeling check today-nothing new @ Smoker Friendly on the Island, but Kroger in Woodsdale had the new Harpoon Variety pack with the Belgian Pale Ale. I'll wait for it to turn up here in a 6er. Their IPA isn't bad, but I don't much care for their UFO.
