Weir graduate in 2001, the guys and gals I knew from Brooke were Ashley Summers, Craig Owens, Sanchez, I forget the Australian kicker's name, Craig Sperlazza, Jared Griffith, Lindsey and Anthony Lombardi.  Anthony is into the craft brews as well he hits up Valley Wine Cellar weekly.

One of the choices for the next Sam Adams brew is Belgian IPA (the other choice is American Rye).

Unfortunately, there are no tastings/votes in WV.    I would wager a guess, however, that American beer snob types are going to select the Belgian IPA in droves (being the "geekier" beer and all), so it should show up next year.

Personally, though, I'd be just as happy with a solid rye beer...rye isn't used nearly as much as it should!

Nearly picked up Founders variety pack yesterday while in Washington, PA, at Cappelli's.  Red's Rye was one of the beers that drew my attention.  (The other was Dirty Bastard, a wonderful Scottish style ale.)

Do like a nice rye beer on occasion.

Does anyone have an opinion on Ommegangs' Belgian IPA?  I picked up
a bottle at Heinien's in Berea,OH while attending a conference.  I hope to
sample it tonight.

I haven't had it, but Ommegang doesn't make a bad brew...

Agreed on the Ommegang Belgian IPA, I am also dying to try their BPA.  I love a good Belgian Pale Ale.   My local store here in Steubenville, OH just got a Troubadour Magma Tripel IPA in and it's fanfuckin'tastic.

Salute

I picked up Raging Bitch and Harpoons Belgian Pale ale on friday.
Drank them both yesterday....Bitch followed by the Harpoon.
Have to say, the Harpoon was more to my liking, but both very good beers.

Tony, where did you find the Harpoon Belgian IPA?  I'm
hoping against hope that it'll turn up somewhere in the
Wheeling area.

I don't think that Harpoon makes a BIPA, they just make a nice sessionable Belgian style Pale Ale.

Salute

Tony

BTW, Weirton Kroger on the hill has 12 packs of Tumbler from Sierra Nevada in.
